Bending Practice
A technique where you push or pull the string sideways to raise the pitch. A core expression in blues and rock solos.
- Form: Use your ring finger as primary, supported by middle and index fingers. Use wrist rotation, not just finger strength.
- Bend amount: Whole step (2 frets) is most common. Matching the target pitch accurately is key.
- String pressure: Maintain pressure on the fret throughout the bend. Don’t let the note cut out.
